Dr. Jamal Mohammed, MD

Dr. Jamal Mohammed is a passionate and enthusiastic family medicine physician with vast experience in caring for geriatrics, pediatrics, women’s health, and adults. He acquired experiences as a medical practitioner in a robust residency training program at Texas Tech University Health Science Center at Permian Basin. He is well known for the hard-working, compassionate, warm-hearted care that he renders to his community. He is versatile in several languages, which include English, Spanish, Amharic, and Oromo. Dr. Mohammed’s medical school and residency training, he was involved in community health activities by being part of STD testing, treatment, and prevention initiative. He is inspired by rending compassionate care to the underserved with the goal to prevent disease and halt disease complications.

Dr. Gabriel Maislos, DPM

Dr. Gabriel Maislos, DPM, FACFAS, FAENS, is an award-winning, board-certified podiatrist. Dr. Maislos treats patients from all over the Houston area, addressing a host of concerns ranging from sports injuries to cosmetic issues and the effects of debilitating accidents. Ultimately, he cares about his patients and always goes the extra mile to ensure they are all well cared for. Being one of Houston’s top podiatrists isn’t so much a job, but a passion that drives Dr. Maislos to deliver the best service and treatment to his patients.

Dr. Juan J Martin, MD

Dr. Juan J. Martin is a Board Certified Neurosurgeon specializing in complex spine and cranial conditions, certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery and the Council of Neurological Surgery Mexico. Dr. Martin earned a medical degree at the Universidad de Guadalajara Faculty of Medicine in Mexico, and later moved to the United States to continue his training. He completed his neurosurgery residency as well as an internship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pennsylvania. He treats a range of back and spine conditions including: Degenerative Spine, Disc Herniations, Spine Fractures, Trauma, Tumora, and Vasculars.

Dr. Terah Isaacson, MD

A Kansas native, Dr. Isaacson brings not only a passion for quality healthcare, but also a wealth of new skills to The Heights Hospital. She specializes in using minimally invasive techniques to perform abdominal surgery for diseases, such as colon and rectal cancer, diverticular disease, and inflammatory bowel disease. She also provides many treatment options for anorectal and pelvic floor disorders, including hemorrhoids, anal fissures, fecal incontinence and constipation. In addition, Dr. Isaacson is proficient in both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy. Dr. Isaacson strives to provide well-informed care using a variety of approaches to provide her patients with a unique plan of care fit especially for their needs. She has been named a Texas Rising Star 3 years in a row from Super Doctors, published in Texas Monthly.

Dr. Dushi Parameswaran, MD

Dr. Dushi Parameswaran, MD is a sports medicine trained Orthopedic Surgeon who treats injuries of the shoulder, elbow, hip, knee, foot, and ankle. Board Certified and fellowship-trained, he is dedicated to getting patients back to work and/or back to a normal lifestyle as quickly as possible. He utilizes the latest techniques in open and minimally-invasive surgery. Areas of expertise include: Shoulder Arthroscopy for rotator cuff repair; Knee Arthroscopy for cartilage repair and transplantation, Knee Alignment (ACL) Reconstruction, and kneecap problems; Shoulder and Knee Replacement; Treatment of broken bones of the arms and legs from work injuries, sport-related injuries and accident-related injuries.

Dr. Stefan Gilthorpe, MD

Dr. Stefan Gilthorpe, MD was born in Slidell, Louisiana and raised in the Beaumont area. His small-town roots shape how he approaches patient care: he understands the importance of listening to each patient and communicating his treatment plan before stepping out of the exam room. Dr. Gilthorpe received his undergraduate degree at Texas A&M University and went on to earn a master’s degree at Lamar University. He attended the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas for medical school, anesthesiology residency, and pain-medicine fellowship. Dr. Gilthorpe’s subspecialty training focused on interventional techniques for neck and back pain, peripheral joints, migraines, complex regional pain syndrome, and other painful conditions.

Dr. D. Lee Howell, MD

Dr. Howell has significant experience dealing with complex anorectal issues and is proficient in multiple outpatient operative techniques used to treat these conditions. He is trained in laparoscopy and minimally invasive techniques for the treatment of intra-abdominal conditions. In addition, he is skilled in both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy. He is an active member of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons along with the Texas Medical Association and the Harris County Medical Society. He firmly believes that the best medicine results when patients thoroughly understand the cause of their ailments and what it takes to alleviate their suffering. He prides himself on his ability to explain the conditions he diagnoses in the simplest way possible, regardless of how long it takes. “If you don’t understand what you have, I haven’t done my job.”

He is an active member of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons along with the Texas Medical Association and the Harris County Medical Society. Dr. Nida Nisar, DPM

Dr. Nida Nisar is a board-qualified podiatrist serving the central Houston community. She treats all aspects of the foot and ankle. Originally from the suburbs of Chicago, Dr. Nisar attended Loyola University of Chicago where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology. After shadowing multiple types of physicians, she chose to pursue a career in podiatry at Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine and received her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine Degree. Upon graduation, she was accepted to a rigorous 3-year foot and ankle surgical residency program at HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood. Dr. Nisar’s training has equipped her with the tools necessary to treat many different types of patients and pathologies. She is ready to listen to your concerns and develop a gentle yet effective treatment plan to help you get back on your feet.
