Jessen Mukalel, MD, is an interventional pain management physician with board certification in anesthesiology. He provides care to patients in Spring, Texas, at Spring Hospital.
Dr. Mukalel is not your typical pain management doctor. His unique style is based on building relationships with his patients to identify their specific needs and apply his knowledge as both a pain physician and a patient himself. Dr. Mukalel has taken the road less traveled to get him to where he is now.
After earning his Doctor of Medicine from Saint James School of Medicine in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Dr. Mukalel completed a residency in interventional pain medicine at the University of Illinois-Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago. Pursuing additional training, he also completed a fellowship in chronic interventional pain at the Florida Spine Institute in Clearwater, Florida, and an orthopedic anesthesia and regional anesthesia fellowship at the University of Texas in the Texas Medical Center.
Dr. Mukalel is an advocate for opioid-free pain management, utilizing reversible diagnostic injections to identify pain generators and predict the success of therapeutic interventional procedures. He is well-versed in providing therapeutic procedures, including nerve ablation, neuro-stimulation, percutaneous sacroiliac joint fusions, minimally invasive lumbar decompressions, Botox® injections, regenerative bone marrow stem cell therapies, and platelet-rich plasma therapy and Ketamine infusion treatments.
By specializing in a limited range of treatment options, Dr. Mukalel has found that he can offer close to, if not 100%, pain relief without pain medications or steroids. He promises to give you his dedicated time, respect, and attention to help you get back to being you.
